WORLD WAR II – KOREAN WAR ROUNDTABLE MEETING

November 16, 2006, THURSDAY, 6:45 P.M.(The 3rd Thursday)

NOVEMBER MEETING: Lt. James Armstrong, 91st Infantry Division

(the Wild West Division) that fought in Italy during WWII

 

  OCTOBER MEETING SUMMARY:.THE SPECIAL FIFTH ANNIVERSARY

  MEETING: Larry Heller and Dave Finch produced a wonderful program which

 included live music, refreshments, Ohio National Guard Color Guard, WWII and

 Korean War group photos, founder/officer plaques for Dean Smith and Dan Demko,

 and the unveiling of our new seal and service flags. The group photos will be issued

 at our November meeting.

 

OCTOBER TOPIC: David Ford, under contract with the American Field Service as

an ambulance driver in Italy, shared his experiences while working with the

British, American, New Zealand and Indian armies. Attendance was 145.

 

 “LIVING HISTORY FOR OUR KIDS” – Bring your children, grandchildren and

 friends to our meetings to witness the veterans who made history.

 

BOOK SALE: The Roundtable received 10 boxes of books dealing with WWII and Korea from the

estate of Alan Smith. They are on sale (price range $ 1-10) with the proceeds going to the

Roundtable. Currently they are being housed in the office of Dean Smith. For the present

he will bring a different box to each of our next meetings.

 

DUES for the period September 1, 2006 to August 31, 2007 ($10) are due. Current paid membership is 186.

 

SPEAKERS FOR 2006: Dr. Thomas Adams is our official “speakers” recruiter. Call Tom 

at 330 668 3672 to volunteer yourself or to recommend others.

 

Note: No meeting in December.
